Text-based explorations of anxieties surrounding social status.

“I have always been uncomfortable around other people. To alleviate my social anxieties, I constantly discreetly look for clues on my interlocutors’ social status: How much can they make, how prestigious is their job, how do they dress or what type of watch they wear, in order to assess if they might, possibly, remotely, hypothetically, suddenly humiliate myself for some unforeseeable reason.”
