BELLY CONTEST forms part of CRUISE ITINERARY HAIKU, a two-part poem written by Guggenheim fellow Denise Duhamel and interpreted by artist Vanessa Coleman.

Vanessa Coleman is a interdisciplinary artist & poet, creating emotive collages & poetry with empowering and sometimes raw feminist undertones. Initially creating analog collage works in the 90’s, she now creates multimedia NFT art across crypto platforms. Vanessa’s NFTs have been included in the following exhibits: Graffiti Queens curated by Yuna/Graffiti Kings in Decentraland, Renaissance Protocol Curated by Soo Young at Theaterlab in NYC, STRATOSPHERE curated by Sabet + others in Beijing, and Empowered Women Empower Women curated by Paris Hilton through the Seven Grants Foundation. Her physical works have been exhibited worldwide since 2005 throughout California in Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, & Berkeley as well as Brooklyn NY, Estonia, and the Yucatán.
